Our Story: Crafting Sleep Solutions Since 2009

From a Parent's Need to Your Peace of Mind

The Spark of an Idea

Our journey began in 2009, when founder Julie Kozak, a mom of four with a passion for sewing, was approached by another parent seeking a better solution for camping with a portable crib. They struggled to keep kids warm and manage multiple blankets, desiring something truly easy to use.

Stitching the Solution

Inspired by this real-world challenge, Julie started drawing designs and meticulously crafting prototypes, driven by the belief that portable sleep could be simple and secure. The product went through many changes, hours of work, and fabric use to become the great product it is today.

KozySak Comes to Life

From those early efforts came the KozySak: an innovative solution to lost blankets and restless nights, designed for ease of use wherever families go. Our creation even underwent a patent process to protect its unique design and functionality.

Meet Julie Kozak:

The Heart Behind KozySak

My name is Julie Kozak and I'm married to an amazing and supportive husband and have four children.  I've always been creative and love to paint in addition to sewing. I'm a California native and live on a property with lots of animals.  I love the outdoors and have a passion for horses.   I started sewing when our oldest daughter, born in 2004, was young and most people were taking Christmas photos in pretty dresses, we didn’t have that…we are Jewish.

I went to the fabric store and got Hanukkah material and a pattern and went to my machine and did my best to make something cute for her photos.  I loved it and sewed so much stuff and even her first birthday dress.  I made costumes and other fun stuff throughout the years and bought way too much fabric and a new machine.  I was hooked and now I had to do more.  I would alter clothes for other people and made lots of baby gift stuff.

I was the mom at midnight trying to put something together for school for a play.  I've also made nap sack for daycare centers.  I love to help others and bring out creativity in them too.   Eventually I was approached by a woman who was looking for a solution for camping with a portable crib and we got this going in 2009.
